Welcome to First Baptist Church. We are one church that meets on two campuses, with one driving passion. Our vision is simple: Connecting People to Christ and to One Another. That’s it, eight simple words. Our church exists to glorify God through vibrant worship, through relational small group Bible study, and through gift based ministry opportunities in the church and in the world. 
Our desire is to saturate Jacksonville with the precious gospel of Christ. After all, isn’t that our ultimate mission? Isaiah declared, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord” (Isa. 61: 1-2).
We are on mission with God, and it starts right here in Jacksonville. It makes no difference how well we do in other areas of the world, if we fail to affect change in the lives of people right here. We want to do whatever it takes to reach our community for the cause of Christ.
We believe the same gospel that worked in past generations will work today because “it is the power of God unto salvation.” It is eternally relevant. It still changes lives.
