I was born and raised in Jacksonville as a member of First Baptist Church. I graduated from Auburn University in 2006 with a degree in Landscape Horticulture. Two days after graduation I married my high school sweet-heart, Brittany . We spent a couple of years in Birmingham, AL as she finished her schooling and I briefly made use of my degree. As FBC began prayerfully considering adding a second campus, we also began praying over returning to Jacksonville. We moved back in September of 2007 and since that time I have been blessed with my first ministerial staff position as Worship Pastor of our south campus, EaglePoint Church. Jay Monroe
Jay grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and the first day of second grade he saw the girl that would one day be his wife. Jay and Beth knew each other growing up and dated while attending two different colleges, graduated and then married in November 2004. They have one beautiful daughter, Bella Grace that was born September 2009, and handsome son that was born February 2011. He attended church when he was a child, but had no desire to be there until he was a teenager. The summer before his freshmen year of high school God spoke to him through a pastor and he made the decision to make Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. When he left for college people started asking him about his faith and why he believed what he believed. Jay then began to really study the Bible through the guidance of two older mentors who helped him grow and mature as a follower of Christ. The summer before his sophomore year at Mississippi State University Jay felt a call on his life to be a Student Minister. The following summer Jay did a youth internship for a church in his hometown and during the internship God confirmed the call on his life. To email Jay: jmonroe@fbcjville.org.
